  • Welcome to the RunnerDuck Blog

We use to publish a monthly newsletter but decided to step up and do a blog instead. Just like our newsletter we will update this "newsletter" about once a month.
Each month we bring you news from our little town of Coupeville, WA and happenings around the island we live on.
We hope you enjoy our blog and we'd encourage you to sign up for email notification since it doesn't update all that frequently.

Gobble, Gobble, Happy Thanksgiving

These Thanksgiving Candles were carved by Marilyn

Today we find ourselves thankful for so many things and a good time to reflect on family and friends. Unfortunately we will not be celebrating with anyone but ourselves which is OK. All of our family has plans elsewhere so we’ll enjoy the turkey and all the fixin’s at home. There should be lots of leftovers to enjoy for days to come. It will actually feel really good to just kick back and do nothing for a day as we’ve really been busy getting ready for Christmas and working on our landscaping and new deck.

The bad news is that the winter rains have come and the working conditions are not to our liking. Here’s a picture of the progress on our new deck showing our contractor Ted in the middle of the pig wallow.

You can see the progress that’s been made on the patio in the foreground which is looking really nice. We hope to have the main portion of the deck done by December 10th when Marilyn’s family will be here to celebrate an early Christmas.

So there ya go, not a lot of news but a little update and a wish for a wonderful day.

  1. Hello, And Thank you for the greeting and update… I enjoy very much hearing from you guys…. Marilyn’s candles a great….The patio look great too… I will be looking forward to seeing the end results or progress as it goes… We also are eating alone, but will not have leftovers as we are eating out, by the bay. They always cook a few turkey tails for me, makes me feel like home… Have a great day and God Bless, Love and Hugs, just me, Betty Hopkins in Va.

  2. Happy Thanksgiving Day to you!
We are always glad to find an e-mail from you two. You seem to have projects cookin’ or brewin’ all the time. I’m glad to hear you have taken one day of rest.
We too had dinner for just for two and shared our main side dishes and desserts with a lady who lives alone, who in turn shared her turkey with us, Was nice!
We have much to be thankful for this year and I hope on this day our families, friends and neighbors remember to give thanks to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
If we don’t have the pleasure before Dec.25, We wish you a delightful Merry Christmas. May Christ always live in your heart.
