  • Welcome to the RunnerDuck Blog

We use to publish a monthly newsletter but decided to step up and do a blog instead. Just like our newsletter we will update this "newsletter" about once a month.
Each month we bring you news from our little town of Coupeville, WA and happenings around the island we live on.
We hope you enjoy our blog and we'd encourage you to sign up for email notification since it doesn't update all that frequently.

Day 25 – Sleepin’ In

We had a big day yesterday traveling 230 miles to Pennsylvania. We crossed the Ohio/Pennsylvania border driving east on I-80.

We stopped in Clarion, PA and had lunch at the RRR Roadhouse Bison Head Saloon. It was a good restaurant located in a shopping mall and had a nice western feel to it. After lunch it was another 45 miles to the Cayman Campground at Treasure Lake near DuBois, PA. It’s a lovely wooded setting and very quiet. We set up camp with the help of Ken’s aunt Shirley, her husband Jim and her two daughters Sandy and Cindy who were here from Mechanicsburg, PA.

Shirley and Jim have a timeshare at Silverwood which is located in the Treasure Lake area. They’ve been coming here for the past twenty years and it was great that we could connect with them here in this lovely setting.

We went to their house and had a fun evening with a BBQ including some yummy locally grown sweet corn. Here’s Marilyn and cousin Cindy shucking the corn.

We’ll be spending three nights here with the anticipation of lot of relaxing and down time. We started today by sleeping in using the excuse that we were up late last night. Today Shirley and Jim will show us around the Treasure Lake area and should have more pictures of the area for you tomorrow. As with most of the central US it’s supposed to start really warming up. This morning it’s a comfortable 66 degrees F but at 85% humidity. The sun is rising and we hope that as the temperature rises the humidity drops.
