  • Welcome to the RunnerDuck Blog

We use to publish a monthly newsletter but decided to step up and do a blog instead. Just like our newsletter we will update this "newsletter" about once a month.
Each month we bring you news from our little town of Coupeville, WA and happenings around the island we live on.
We hope you enjoy our blog and we'd encourage you to sign up for email notification since it doesn't update all that frequently.

Day 24 – Here We Come Aunty

Yesterday was a driving day and not much else. We crossed the Indiana/Ohio boarder without much fanfare, in fact it was really hard to tell much difference except the freeway did seem to be a little smoother in Ohio. The night before we had watched a show about corn on the History Channel and found ourselves looking at all the corn fields with new eyes, sort of fun.

We stopped in Bellevue, Ohio to have lunch and found a nice Mexican restaurant called Casa Mexicana. The place was spotless, they had good food and was the most colorful restaurant we’ve ever been in.

We arrived at the Lazy J RV Campground just outside of Bellevue, Ohio and set up camp.

It’s kind of an interesting place as we are parked more or less in an open field although there are some trees around it. There are lots of things for families to do and it’s a very “kid friendly” place, of course we’re not kids 😉 It’s just off the highway so there is lots of highway noise which always adds a degree of difficulty to a good nights sleep. But for one night we were able to handle it.

We drove into Bellevue, Ohio to get gas and some groceries. It looks like an interesting old town but unfortunately we didn’t have time to explore it this trip. Here are a few pictures Ken took while driving through.

As you can see from the traffic it’s kind of a busy little place.

Today we are driving about 225 miles to Silverwood in DuBois, Pennsylvania to visit Ken’s aunt Shirley and husband Jim. They live in Mechanicsburg, PA but always spend a week at Silverwood so we’ll hook up with them there and spend three nights. It will be great to see them and spend a little down time from all the traveling and sightseeing.
